What all could have possibly happened before I was born? Medically speaking, it is profound information : fertilization, embryo, fetus, growth for almost 9 months and then the birth. The medical world cannot produce more information than that. Now let us turn to the Bible:
Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Wait, what? God boasts His knowledge about Jeremiah before his birth. Even his profession! Let me put across a progressive sequence of events (it could differ too, only God knows!) leading to our grand birth on earth, all from the Word of God.
- He CHOSE me before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
- He KNEW me before I was formed in the womb(Jeremiah 1:5).
- He FORMED me from the womb (Isaiah 49:5).
- He NAMED me from the womb of my mother (Isaiah 49:1).
- He SANCTIFIED and SET ME APART before I was born (Jeremiah 1:5, Galatians 1:15).
- He WROTE MY DAYS before I was born (Psalm 139:15,16).
- And finally, I was BORN.
So, God sure did a lot of work before I was born. And it is only His grace, that I am one among those whom God worked so much on. Did you know that you are one too?
